Sol-Orr's Rembrandt and Tennesse Velvet
~ A silky success story  ~
He was a Virginia bred silky with not a lot to do.  Just one of many bucks on
the farm. His breeding was impeccable  so when the chance came for him to
move to Tennessee we seized it..  He was stinky and needed a bath, but that
glorious coat was all that the we saw...
She was a Tennesse lass with roots in
Florida.  All her friends were smooth
coated fainters.  She knew she was
different.  Some called her "skirted" and others called her "shaggy" but
she didn't mind.  She carried herself with grace and poise.

When she came to Green Pastures, she knew she had found her destiny.
Her new owner said that she was PERFECT for a new and exciting breed.
Then she saw Rembrandt.....
FIRST came ROMEO, a gorgeous white with black buckling.
He was born 3/18/07 and he still lives here.  Romeo is now
NUMERO UNO buck of the silkies.
After this cutie we were hoping for a
girl and we were not disappointed....

RED VELVET CAKE
Our SECOND silky from this pair arrived on November 6, 2007.  We
thought she was so beautiful and she was such a deep shiny red/brown.
It has now lightened some and she is just a jewel.  She is still here, too,
and will bred once she is old enough. We also thought her name fitted her
perfectly RED VELVET CAKE.
We needed some knew bloodlines and Rembrandt had done his work here.  So
before he left, he and Tennesse Velvet were together for one last time.  He
packed his bags and left the next week for Wisconsin, while everyone here
patiently waited for FIVE MONTHS to pass.......

The THIRD and final breeding of this duo was all we could hope for....
On September 9, 2008, we were blessed with a boy and girl.  The boy was
stunning and was sold almost immediately.  The girl is a carbon copy of her mom,
and she too was sold.
