Miniature Silky Fainting Goats!!
The Ladies

Our goal is to breed offspring that we can be proud and more importantly YOU, the buyer, will be thrilled to own.

We are still seeking long-haired goats to add to our gene pool to insure genetic diversity.  If you have a long haired fainting
goat that does not fit into your breeding program, please contact us!
These beautiful does live at Green Pastures.  They have been selected for their beauty AND for
their ability to pass their long silky coats to their offspring.
NOTE:  Each one is priced to give you an idea of their value to our program. We keep several kids
from each of these does here to watch their development so YES, we would allow one or two of our
adults to leave to the right home....

Miniature Silky Fainting Goats are a unique 'new' breed of goats.  A long flowing coat, top knots, and
beards are the ideal look of a Mini Silky.  One only has to look at the canine breed - Silky Terrier -  to get
the idea.  Mini Silkies do not have to faint, but  Myotonic (fainting) goats are the foundation of this
breed, with a few older lines of Nigerian Dwarf goats sprinkled in here and there.

Both fainters and Nigerians have been selectively bred and the ideal goat for those registries  has
evolved.  At one time long har was more common to BOTH breeds but as the show circuit grew the long
hair started to disappear.   Many selectively bred for smooth coats in both breeds.   Thankfully the MSFGA registry, not only
preserved this unique characteristic, but is working to improve this look by emphasizing the silky quality and producing goats
who continue this older tradition.

Their flowing silky coats come in at differing rates during the first two to three years.   The Silky Buck typically has  a more
extreme coat than a Silky Doe.   But as  the breed evolves you will see more and more Silky Does that are  as gorgeous and
flashy as the Silky Buck.

We are genuinely excited to take part in the development and expansion of this fantastic little breed!  For more information

Miniature Silky Fainting Goat Association.   Some are dual registered with the MGR or
IFGA.  We are anticipating some gorgeous Miniature Silkies from these guys and we are proud to be a part of developing this
unique breed.
